Hello again! I hope you’re happy and well!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love animals especially my dogs! They can make any bad day better just by sitting with you! In my house our dogs are family. We’re the type of people who will find a different spot to sit so as not to disturb the sleeping dogs haha.

This is why I love making things for them that I know they’ll love. Cookies are definitely one of those things.

These are my pups trying on the cutest faces they have to get a cookie.

These 2 recipes are full of healthy ingredients that you likely already have in your home. You don’t have to feel at all guilty about giving your fur babies a few extra cookies during the day!

What you’ll need

A mixing bowl

Wooden spoon

Cookie sheet (I love Gotham steel products!)

Measuring cups

Recipe #1

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup steel-cut oats or regular oats

1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut

1/4 cup hemp seeds

1 egg

1/4 cup apple sauce (I used homemade with no sugar added)

1 apple shredded

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. If it’s really sticky add a bit more flour. Once it’s mixed you can spread it out on the counter and use a cookie cutter or you can just use your hands and form flattened balls as I did. any shape or size will work fine as long as it’s not too thick because that will affect cooking time.

I used parchment paper as you can see but I really didn’t need to. It would have been fine without.

Put them in the oven at 325 for 1 hour. Less time if they’re thinner and a little more time if they are quite thick. That’s it!

Recipe #2

1 banana

1 cup steel-cut oats or regular oats

1/4 cup flax seeds

1 egg

3/4 cup peanut butter (I use just peanuts peanut butter because there’s no sugar and no worries about xylitol which is toxic for dogs)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. If it’s too sticky just add a bit more flour. You can roll it out on the counter and use cookie cutters to make your shapes or you can just roll the dough in your hands as I did. You can make them whatever shape you like just remember if they’re quite thick that will affect the cooking time.

Put them in a 325-degree oven for an hour. Less time if they are thinner than pictured and more time if they are thicker.

It’s as easy as that! I hope your pups love them as much as mine do and I’d love to hear about it 🙂 Nothing makes me happier than happy puppy stories!!!
